JEFFERSON REVIEW
SUNDAY EDITION
From the Editor’s Desk
What does the future of Jefferson County look like?
This week’s stories offer a glimpse of the conversations shaping that future across our communities.
In Festus, downtown leaders are launching a new event designed to bring more people to Main Street and build momentum for the city’s growing entertainment district. In Arnold, city officials are exploring whether a food truck park near the Meramec River could create a new gathering place for residents while raising questions about how it might impact local restaurants.
At the county level, Planning and Zoning commissioners have taken an important step toward creating regulations for future data centers — a move that could influence economic development across Jefferson County for years to come.
We’re also highlighting a powerful story happening quietly in our community. The James II Project is bringing neighbors together around a shared table while helping people facing hardship reconnect with stability, support, and dignity.

Ella
Adoptable Pet of the Week
Ella
Meet Ella, a stunning 6 year old Pitbull mix who just graduated from her stay with the amazing students at the Jefferson College Vet Tech program and is officially back on the market and ready to be someone’s spoiled only child or slightly bossy sibling.
Ella is fully vetted and ready to go home today. And the best part? Her adoption fee has already been covered.
This sweet girl comes with a personality that is impossible not to love. Expect short lived zoomies, a strong commitment to occupying any empty lap, and a deep appreciation for treats. Lots of treats.
When it comes to other dogs, Ella does have a bit of a diva streak. If they are not trying to out boss the boss, things usually go just fine. She simply appreciates good manners and respectful roommates.
She can be a little shy at first, especially with men, but give her a little patience and she quickly blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion. Once you are in Ella’s circle, you are in for life.
Before heading off to college, Ella had been with the shelter since September 29, 2025. She is more than ready to trade kennel life for cozy couches, soft blankets, and a loving family to spend her golden years with.
Ella is fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for fleas and ticks. She is basically packed and waiting at the door.
All that is missing is someone to give this college graduate the forever home she deserves.
