From Disposable Cameras to a Business Built on Vision

For Allison Theiss, photography did not begin as a business plan. It started as instinct.

From a young age, she was always the one reaching for a camera. Disposable cameras, waterproof cameras, even her dad’s Nikon. If there was a moment to capture, she was already paying attention.

Over time, that curiosity turned into something more focused. Photography gave her a way to slow down a fast moving world, locking in on a single moment and seeing it differently than most.

That instinct is now the foundation of her business, Wild A.T Photography.

A Style Built on Realness and the Details Most People Miss

In a world increasingly filled with AI generated images and over edited photos, Allison has chosen a different direction, one grounded in authenticity.

“I love capturing the real, the emotion, the action, the small hidden details.”
— Allison Theiss

Her work is not just about what is in front of the lens. It is about what others might overlook. The texture in an animal’s coat. The way light reflects off pavement. A split second expression that disappears as quickly as it appears.

“I like to take my photos to slow everything down and have people look at the fine details.”
— Allison Theiss

Her images are meant to be studied, not just glanced at. The longer you look, the more you see.

From Car Meets to High Speed Roller Photography

Allison’s path into professional photography began at local car meets, where she learned to work with motion, light, reflections, and timing in constantly changing conditions.

That experience eventually led her into one of the most demanding and visually striking forms of photography she offers today, roller photography.

A roller shoot involves photographing a moving vehicle while riding in another moving vehicle, often at highway speeds. In some cases, Allison is harnessed into the back of a truck or positioned at an open window, tracking a subject that is constantly shifting while she works to capture the right angle, the right light, and the right split second.

There is wind, noise, speed, and constant motion. At the same time, she is paying attention to reflections, wheel position, background blur, road spacing, and how the vehicle sits in the frame. This is where technical skill meets trust, timing, and precision.

The final images may look effortless, but they are built in real time, under pressure, with almost no room for hesitation. That challenge is part of what makes the work so compelling.

Safety First, No Exceptions

“Safety is my biggest priority.”
— Allison Theiss

For all the adrenaline that comes with high speed photography, Allison is clear that safety comes first.

Before every roller shoot, expectations are laid out in advance. No risky maneuvers. No unnecessary danger. No trying something on the fly that could put others in harm’s way. If someone is not willing to follow those rules, they are not part of the session.

She is also selective about who she works with behind the wheel, choosing only drivers she trusts. In that kind of environment, trust is a two way street. Clients trust her to capture something exceptional, and she expects them to respect the process that makes those moments possible.

A Photographer Who Adapts to You

“I want their session to be uniquely theirs.”
— Allison Theiss

That same mindset carries into every type of shoot she takes on. Whether she is photographing wildlife, an event, a wedding, or a custom automotive session, her goal is to understand what the client is hoping to create and then build the session around that vision.

Sometimes that means helping clients talk through ideas they cannot fully describe yet. Other times it means adjusting on the spot, trying a new angle, or putting in extra effort to get the image right. She has even walked miles to get the shot a client needed.

What stands out most is not just her versatility, but her willingness to do the extra work required to make each session feel personal. The result is photography that feels less like a formula and more like a collaboration.

More Than a Photo, A Moment That Lasts

At its core, Allison’s work is about capturing something real. The motion of a vehicle at speed. The stillness of wildlife. The connection between people. The hidden details that most would pass by without noticing.

In a world that moves fast and often feels filtered, Wild A.T Photography offers something different. A reason to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the moment for what it is.
