Tim Whitney

Tim Whitney is a veteran law enforcement executive and community leader with more than two decades of experience serving Jefferson County, Missouri. A lifelong resident, he began his career with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and has held leadership roles spanning patrol operations, criminal investigations, SWAT, and special operations. He currently serves as Undersheriff and Chief Financial Officer, where he oversees strategic operations, budgeting, and organizational leadership while helping shape policies that impact community safety and county governance. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Lt. Colonel Whitney holds multiple degrees, including an advanced degree in public administration and criminal justice. His professional experience includes leading high-risk operations, managing complex public safety initiatives, and guiding long-term organizational strategy. Drawing on firsthand operational and executive leadership experience, his writing focuses on public safety, leadership, government accountability, and issues affecting local communities. Whitney lives in the Festus area with his wife, Stefanie, a local teacher, and their two children. Together, they remain active in the community and committed to the values that define Jefferson County.
